**## Summary of the Topic

**Order of a Matrix:**

If a matrix A has m rows and n columns then A is said to be of order m by n

**Equal Matrices**

Two matrices are said to be equal if they have the same order and their corresponding entries are equal.

**Row Matrix:**

A matrix having only one row is called row matrix.

**Column Matrix:**

A matrix having only one column is called column matrix.

**Rectangular Matrix:**

A matrix is said to be rectangular matrix if the number of rows and the number of columns of a matrix are unequal.

**Square Matrix:**

A matrix is said to be square matrix if the number of rows and the number of columns of a matrix are equal.

**Diagonal Matrix:**

A square matrix is called diagonal matrix if at least any one of the entries of its diagonal is not zero and non-diagonal entries are all zero.

**Scalar Matrix:**

A diagonal matrix is said to be scalar matrix, if all the diagonal entries are same and non-zero.

**Unit Matrix:**

A diagonal matrix is called unit matrix if all the diagonal entries are 1.

**Null or Zero Matrix:**

A matrix is said to be null or zero matrix if each of its entries is zero.
